Itinerary

Day 1 Ljubljana - Bohinj – Bled lake - Ljubljana

Visit of Bohinj Glacier lake and panorama from the top of the Vogel mountain. Drive to Bled lake and its beautiful castle. Lunch in Bled. After lunch, drive to Ljubljana - guided tour of the city center and free time. Overnight in Ljubljana 1#.

Day 2 Ljubljana - Postojna Caves - Predjama castle - Poreč (Croatia)

Morning visit of Slovenia’s natural gem - Postojna cave. After a typical lunch in Postojna, drive to the dramatic Predjama castle. After leaving Predjama and Slovenia, the tour enters Croatia. The tour continues towards Poreč, west-Istrian town. Free evening in Poreč. Overnight in Poreč 2#.

Day 3 Poreč - Motovun - Rovinj - Vodnjan - Pula

Visit of the medieval village of Motovun. Introduction to the Istrian truffle with the truffle hunting time in Motovun forest area. Crash course in elementary Istrian cooking followed by a delicious lunch. Visit of the romantic town of Rovinj. En route from Rovinj to Pula, the scheduled stop for an olive oil tasting in Vodnjan. Arrival to the hotel in the evening. Overnight in Pula 3#.

Day 4 Pula - Kvarner Riviera - Opatija - Senj - Plitvice Lakes area

Sightseeing of the town of Pula. Drive along the Kvarner riviera, one of the destinations with the longest touristic tradition in Croatia. Lunch in a typical restaurant in Opatija. After lunch, scenic drive to the town of Senj, and then to Plitvice lake area. Overnight in Plitvice area 4#.

Day 5 Plitvice - Plastovo - Šibenik

In the morning, hike the trails of the famous UNESCO World Heritage site: The Plitvice Lakes National Park with 16 crystalline lakes. Lunch at Plitvice, before the bus transfer. Drive to Plastovo for a wine and food pairing at Bibich Winery and then to the the city of Šibenik. Overnight in Šibenik 5#.

Day 6 Šibenik - Trogir - Klis - Split

Walking tour of Šibenik, the oldest native Croatian town including St. James Cathedral. Scenic bus ride to the medieval town of Trogir perched on a small islet between the mainland and the island of Čiovo. Drive to Klis and start with a lunch at Stella Croatica (award winning producer of olive oil and other autochthonous delicacies) before visiting the legendary Klis fortress (Game of Thrones filming location). Overnight in Split 6#.

Day 7 Split - Island of Hvar - Split

Transfer to Split ferry port and ferry transfer to Starigrad. Bus transfer to the town of Hvar. Visit of the Cathedral, Bishop’s palace, the Hvar’s Piazza, Hvar theater with Arsenal as well as the Franciscan monastery dating back from 1461 that boasts an old masters’ collection. Visit of Hvar Fortress follows (called Španjola - Spanish), built above the old town in the mid-16th century with a thrilling view of town of Hvar and the surrounding Paklinski islands. Visit to a superb wine tasting venue modelled on ancient Roman dining rooms and buried in stone below the Tomić winery in the beautiful town of Jelsa. Boat transfer back to Split. Overnight in Split 7#.

Day 8 Split - Ston - Dubrovnik

Departure by bus via the Delta of the Neretva river, to Mali Ston and Ston (aka Salt City). Visit the monumental walls followed by oyster &wine tasting. Lunch on the Pelješac peninsula. Continuation via coastal route to Dubrovnik, the pearl of the Adriatic, and visit of the old town center including the Pile gate, big Onofrio´s fountain, Roland's column, Bell tower, Stradun promenade, Dominican monastery, Franciscan monastery and Rector's palace. Overnight in Dubrovnik 8#.

Day 9 Dubrovnik - Sunset Cruise

Bus transfer to Pile Gate. Free time to enjoy Dubrovnik till the evening rendezvous. Optional tours: City walls walk (1 ½ hr)/panoramic cable car ride/Lokrum island by boat, or simply enjoy the beach. Evening: Karaka (Carrack boat) Sunset cruise with buffet dinner while watching the sun going down. Overnight in Dubrovnik 9#.

Day 10 Dubrovnik - Perast - Lady of the rocks - Kotor - Lovćen - Sveti Stefan

Depart from Dubrovnik in the direction of the Montenegro, passing through the Konavle plain. Visit of Perast and the islet of the votive church of Our Lady of the Rocks, followed by the drive to Kotor. Lunch in Kotor. Drive along the most famous panoramic serpentine road to the heart of Lovćen National Park and Njegoš Mausoleum, on the second-highest peak Jezerski Vrh at 1657m (5400 feet). Drive down to Sveti Stefan famous for the most exclusive private islet resort in Montenegro. Overnight in Sveti Stefan area 10#.

Day 11 Sveti Stefan - Virpazar - Skadar lake - Šipčanik - Igalo - Dubrovnik

Drive to the Skadar Lake, the largest lake of the Balkan lying on the border between Montenegro and Albania. Upon arrival, in Virpazar, board the boat and explore the lake. Drive to Ćemovsko polje and Plantaže vineyards with a unique facility, at Šipčanik, for food and wine pairing. Drive back to Dubrovnik and the visit of one of the villas of the controversial former Yugoslav president Josip Broz Tito in Igalo (time permitting). Overnight in Dubrovnik 11#.

Day 12 Dubrovnik
