Itinerary

Day 1 : Split

In the morning, visit of the most interesting parts of Split including the Diocletian’s palace substructures, the Peristyle square, the Cathedral of St. Domnius and the nearby Temple of Jupiter complex in the heart of the palace. Leisure time in Split old town. In the afternoon, bus drive to Salona, the ancient capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia. Visit of the largest archaeological site on the open air featuring the remains of the roman amphitheatre, city walls, a forum, a theatre, public baths and an aqueduct. Overnight in Split 1#.

Day 2 : Split - Šibenik -Kalpić- Krka waterfalls – Trogir – Split

In the morning, walking tour of Šibenik, the oldest native Croatian city in the Adriatic including the famous UNESCO world heritage site St. James Cathedral. The authentic lunch is scheduled in the very remote village of Kalpić followed by a visit to the Krka Waterfalls. Continuing the scenic ride to the medieval town of Trogir including the visit to St Laurence’s Cathedral, the municipal loggia and different Palazzo’s. Overnight in Split 2#.

Day 3 : Split- Mostar & Međugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Early departure to Bosnia and Herzegovina. On the way to the ancient Ottoman town of Mostar, visit of the walled town of Počitelj. In Mostar, visit of the Old Bazaar, a Mosque and a Turkish house. The next stop is one of the most-visited pilgrimage centres in all of Europe - Međugorje. The most compelling site here is the Mount of Appearance where the Virgin Mary is reported to have appeared to children in 1981 for the first time and ever since Međugorje has become a world-wide pilgrimage destination. Day 4 : Međugorje (Bosnia and Herzegovina) - Ston - Dubrovnik

Departure by via the Delta of the Neretva river, to Mali Ston and Ston (aka Salt City). Visit the monumental walls followed by oyster &wine tasting. Lunch on the Pelješac peninsula. Continuation via coastal route to Dubrovnik, the pearl of the Adriatic, and visit of the old town center including the Pile gate, big Onofrio´s fountain, Roland's column, Bell tower, Stradun promenade, Dominican monastery, Franciscan monastery and Rector's palace. Overnight in Dubrovnik 4#.

Day 5 : Dubrovnik – Perast – Our Lady of the Rocks-– Kotor – Tito’s Villa Igalo* – Dubrovnik

Bus drive from Dubrovnik to the city of Perast in the magnificent Montenegro’s Bay of Kotor. Boat sail to the islet of the votive church of Our Lady of the Rocks followed by a short drive to Kotor, the main city of the bay, surrounded by a 4,5 km (2.8 miles) long system of defensive walls. Lunch and visit of the cathedral of Saint Tryphon, the Maritime Museum, Saint Luke and Saint Nicholas and Saint Mary Churches.  On the way back to Dubrovnik, optional stop in Igalo to visit Tito’s Villa in Igalo. (*depending on season/opening hours). Overnight in Dubrovnik 5#.
